NQ Dry Tropics

MCCC was commissioned by North Queensland Dry Tropics (NQDT) to prepare detailed designs and concept plans for 11 properties located in the catchment of the Great Barrier Reef Lagoon. The project aimed to design landscape rehydration measures that address erosion and subsequently limit sediment reaching the Great Barrier Reef, while providing improved production outcomes for landholders. A variety of project objectives were identified at each property, common among them were: reinstating hydrological function present prior to channelisation; complementing existing and constructing new water supply infrastructure; managing overland flow and controlling erosion; and enhancing primary production through increased soil moisture.
